かけ

Kakeyu — Rinsing before an onsen bath

  1. かけ温泉おんせんはいまえからだかけることです

    Kakeyu means pouring warm water over your body before entering an onsen bath.

  2. からだよごなが温度おんどれるためにおこないます

    It is done to rinse dirt off your body and get used to the water temperature.

  3. まずおけくみましょう

    First, scoop some warm water into a bathing bucket.

  4. 足先あしさきからすこしずつかけていきます

    Starting at your toes, pour the water over yourself a little at a time.

  5. つぎあしこしうでなどやさしくかけます

    Next, gently pour water over your legs, waist, arms, and other parts of your body.

  6. 心臓しんぞうからとおところから順番じゅんばんかける基本きほんです

    The basic approach is to pour water over each area in turn, starting with those farthest from your heart.

  7. まわひとばないようにをつけましょう

    Be careful not to splash water on the people around you.

  8. かけだけでなく湯船ゆぶねはいまえからだあらいましょう

    In addition to kakeyu, wash your body before getting into the bath.

  9. 使つかったおけかるすすいでもと場所ばしょもどします

    Give the bucket you used a quick rinse and put it back where it belongs.

  10. かけしてからゆっくり温泉おんせんたのしみましょう

    After kakeyu, take your time and enjoy the onsen.
