～てはいけません

“must not …” / “may not …” / “are not allowed to …”

Add this pattern to a verb’s て-form to state a rule or prohibition politely. It tells someone that an action is not acceptable or permitted. The て-form may end in either て or で.

Verb て-form はいけません

Here, は is a particle pronounced wa, and いけません means “it is not acceptable.” In casual Japanese, ～てはいけない is the plain form.
